Περίληψη:"The publication will feature new, unpublished material related to the concept, filming, post-production, and installation of a new work by artist Rachel Rose (American, b. 1986). This new work, jointly commissioned and acquired by the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, Turin, represents the artist's most ambitious production to date. The publication aims to give the reader an intimate view into the process of creation, using visual materials such as on-set photography, storyboards, and production stills, as well as scripts and musical scores to reveal the artist's intensive interest in narrative, scene-setting, and visual effects. A curator-led artist interview will draw out the core concepts behind the work, as well as how the work's focus and meaning transmuted over the process of creating it. Finally, a short interpretive text by an emerging curator and/or scholar on film, video, and time-based media will give the first insight into the work, which will have both its U.S. premiere in Philadelphia and international premiere in Turin. Promoting a singular emphasis, the publication will be full of new information, will represent the artist's perspective, and will give a first look into the commissioning process of a bold work in the exciting fields of video, experiential, and durational art. This is envisioned as the first of a series of at least three publications on the Future Fields Commissions in Time-Based Media. Ranging from 60 to 80 pages, and sharing a set trim size, each print publication will function as a dossier or manual on the making of the work, will provide a platform for the work's initial interpretation, and will serve as a resource for scholars and curators on the creative process of the participating artists"--
